1) A LETTER OF APPRECIATION FROM PROMISELAND IDP CAMP - July 15, 2005

Dear Sir:

The Leadership of the above mentioned camp extends her heart-felt thanks and appreciation to you (your organization) for the level of assistance rendered us.

Sir, since the establishment of the camp three years ago, your organization was the first to bring to us clothing, shoes, bedding, blankets, toys and etc. These items brought to us were very timely and we appreciate them highly. We hope and pray that the Almighty God will bless you and the works of your hand.

Sir, many times we make requests and appeals to organizations for assistance in this regard but to no avail. But praise be to God that CHAP Liberia did it for us.

Sir, there is something that we cannot understand about your organization. Usually, we make appeals to organizations for help and sometimes it takes up to six to nine months before our requests or appeals are met. But as for CHAP, we only heard of you on the National Radio and did not write or make any request but to our greatest surprise, you were able to reach us in good faith. May God richly bless you once again.

Sir, from your exhortation, many persons got converted and are attending services outside the camp since you left. We would appreciate were you to kindly assist us with some Bibles and Tracts that will enable us to gradually grow in the things of the Lord. Praise be to God for you and your co-workers.

Sir, we also pray that the Lord will bless CHAP International to help us with Tarpolines as to enable us to rebuild our huts. When rain falls at night, the huts get flooded and there's no where to go. This is causing for us serious health problems and we greatly need your help. There is no clinic to cater to the 3,890 persons that reside in this camp.

We pray for God's blessing upon CHAP.

Kind regards,

Aaron D. Massaquoi, Chairman
Internally Displaced Persons (IDP)

2) A REPORT FROM MOTHERLY DAY-CARE AND ORPHANAGE HOME - July 19, 2005

The Motherly Day-Care and Orphanage Home as well as the Elementary School is a social welfare institution that has been catering to orphans, less fortunate and abandoned children since 1996. However, support (financial, materials, etc.) to the institution from the government, UN (WFP, UNICEF) and the INGO's was not and is still not forthcoming, but by the grace of God the center continues to run in a very difficult condition with 11 boys and 8 girls as orphans and 10 dedicated volunteer staff. The Day Care graduated 6 students that included 2 orphans during its 2004 and 2005 closing exercise.

The Home in 2005: Following dozens of disappointments from would-be sponsors to the home, some Liberians lead an American Humanitarian, Mr. Stan Weaver, into the home who after assessing the facilities committed the Christian Humanitarian Assistance Program (CHAP) to supporting the home and the school in principle. All necessary particulars were documented and photos of the children as well as their personal data recorded.

In early June 2005, CHAP-Liberia staff visited the home and the school where we were told about the report that Mr. Stan Weaver submitted on behalf of the home and the school. His wife made a presentation of assorted school materials and toys. Additionally, one bag of rice and one bag of bulgur wheat along with $500 Liberian cash were also presented to the center. We were overwhelmed with joy because for almost four years it was the first of its kind.

On the 25th of June 2005 under a heavy down pour of rains, CHAP-Liberia lead their staff with 15 cartons comprised of assorted materials including clothes, footwears, sweaters, pillows and cases, bedding and blankets, books for Kindergarten, and of course one bag of rice and bulgur wheat plus $500 LD.

Distribution: This consignment was overwhelmingly received in that for the past four years the home and school have not benefited from such humanly gesture, hence the demand was high. Accordingly, the orphans, as well as the support staff dependents, were considered in the distribution, beside the food ration. The assorted school materials are now the property of the school and the home.

Consistent with their commitment, the Christian Humanitarian Assistance Program supplied the home with the following on 15th July, 2005:

  1. One carton of teddy bears
  2. One carton of pillow cases
  3. Two cartons of assorted clothes, lotions, shampoos, etc.
  4. One bag of rice and one bag of bulgur wheat
  5. $500 Liberian Dollars

Observation: Since CHAP started supporting the home and the school, life is picking up as well, especially with the children, given that they are regularly fed. The volunteers are also supplied and hoping for better days ahead come 2006.

Comment: The staff, proprietor and children whole-heartedly appreciate the work of CHAP and pray that the Almighty God will guide and direct the work of CHAP at Motherly Day Care and Orphanage Home, Liberia in general.

Request: We will appreciate were you to include in the 2006 program vulnerable groups for possible assistance. This request is based on our previous experience and even now such people are at our doors seeking help. We take this time to assure the Christian Humanitarian Assistance Program that whatever funds, food, and materials intended for the home and shool will be used for their intended purpose.

Sincerely Yours,

Karsloh S. Turo, I - Proprietor
Motherly Day Care and Orphanage Home

3) A LETTER OF APPRECIATION FROM PASTOR RAMSAY KEITA - July 22, 2005

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ.

Let me begin by giving God the glory and thanks for the great things that He is doing in the life of CHAP International.

I am very much appreciative of the fact that CHAP International is meeting the needs of humanity, especially in our country, Liberia, which is recovering from over 14 years of a devastating civil war which has landed the average Liberian in abject poverty. It is in this adverse circumstance that CHAP has joined the humanitarian working force in our country to serve the great needs of our people (Internally Displaced, Orphans, Disabled, etc.).

Most importantly, I am very thankful to God and the international leadership of CHAP for this latest humanitarian gesture for the suffering people. The forty-foot container which was composed of wearings and other items was received by CHAP Liberia and distributions were made to various displaced camps, orphanages and disabled camps, and our targeted groups received those items that were intended for them.

While it is true that we could not meet the need of every deserving person because of the limitation of the items, the little that was received by them was highly appreciated and we would therefore appreciate any future donation or relief.
